Restoring a Fire-Damaged Property in Bridgeport
At House of Trend Design, some projects go beyond construction—they require care, respect, and a commitment to helping communities recover.
We were called to assist with a severely fire-damaged apartment located at 3133 S. Green St. in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. The fire caused extensive structural and interior damage, leaving the property unsafe and uninhabitable.
This incident was a tragic event that impacted the lives of those connected to the property. Out of respect for those affected, our focus remained on restoring the space with professionalism and sensitivity.
The Challenge
The property sustained significant fire and smoke damage, including:
-
Structural compromise to walls and ceilings
-
Extensive smoke and soot contamination
-
Water damage from emergency response efforts
-
Unsafe living conditions requiring full remediation

Colabyrinth Project
What we did
White boxing a commercial space means transforming an unfinished or outdated property into a clean, neutral environment that is ready for a new tenant to customize. This process usually includes removing old fixtures, repairing walls and floors, installing basic lighting and ceilings, and painting everything white to create a bright, professional appearance.
